Back by popular demand! After the rousing success of Gonzalez’s premiere in 2018, City Ballet opens its 27th Season with his production of Carmina Burana, taking you to 1929 Manhattan where the world sits on the verge of a stock market collapse. The Roaring ‘20s come to a screeching halt as the Great Depression begins, a fitting dance adaptation of Carl Orff’s dramatic tale of fortune and wealth, and the perils of vice. Accompanied by an 80-voice chorus and The City Ballet Orchestra conducted by John Nettles, this multi-media production set in the 1920's is a grandiose sensory delight!

City Ballet of San Diego presents Carmina Burana at the historic Spreckels Theatre in Downtown San Diego.
